Graduate students enrolled in Ph.D. programs in North America who are conducting dissertation research related to regional science are encouraged to apply for the Twenty-Sixth Benjamin H. Stevens Graduate Fellowship in Regional Science, administered by the North American Regional Science Council (NARSC) of the Regional Science Association International.

This Fellowship, in support of dissertation research in regional science, is awarded annually in memory of Dr. Benjamin H. Stevens, an intellectual leader whose selfless devotion to graduate students as teacher, advisor, mentor, and friend had a profound impact on the field. Regional Science is a multidisciplinary field concerned with urban and regional phenomena. Regional Scientists apply theoretical and empirical frameworks and methods of social and other sciences and develop new ones specifically for regional analysis and policy.

Reaching Regions is seeking outreach-oriented submissions for a special issue on Tax Increment Financing (TIF).

Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Improving the TIF evaluation and implementation process

- Political economy aspects of TIF implementation

- Impacts on overlapping jurisdictions, including school districts

- Citizen responses to TIF

- Legal aspects of TIF

- Policies to improve TIF accountability and transparency

- Case studies on TIF implementation and outcomes

Deadline for submission to the special issue is February 15, 2026.
